Rodger and Tamara have been married 12 years and have two boys, Jackson (9), and Henry (4a��and a half).A� They are members ofA� Wheatland Mission Church.
After graduating from Hutchinson High School, Rodger attended the University of Kansas, graduating in 1994. After 3 years of Active Army service, Rodger returned to Lawrence to attend the University of Kansas School of Law. Rodger is also a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College.
Record of Military Service
A 26 year Army veteran, Rodger proudly serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Kansas Army National Guard.
Rodger enlisted as a Private First Class in the Kansas Army National Guard in 1991, and upon completion of the Infantry basic and advanced individual training, entered the KU Army ROTC program. Rodger was commissioned as a Regular Army Officer in 1994, and was stationed in Korea then Ft. Irwin, California. He rejoined the Kansas Guard when he returned to Lawrence to begin Law School.
Rodger has been called to active duty for deployment four times: From June to October of 2001 he deployed as an infantry company executive officer to provide security to US forces in Saudi Arabia. Later, he deployed twice to Iraq, leading Soldiers as a Company Commander in 2004-05 and as a staff officer in 2008-09.
In March of this year he returned home from his fourth deployment, a 9 month tour to Kuwait in support of Operations to counter aggression in the Gulf region and to defeat ISIS in Syria and Iraq.
After law school, Rodger moved to Wichita and started a legal practice representing clients on a wide range of issues,A�both civil and criminal matters, in Municipal and District Courts of Sedgwick, Reno and Harvey Counties.A� His experience as an individual practitioner helps him understand the unique issues facing smaller law offices, and the challenges facing all small businesses.
After returning from Iraq in 2009, Rodger served as Campaign Manager of the Pompeo for Congress campaign. He has worked in the non-profit arena as state policy director, a position which required policy research, preparation and presentation of testimony to Kansas Legislative Committees. Rodger has also served as a member and is a past president of the Wichita Public Library Board.
Rodger currently serves as District Counsel and Military/Veterans Constituent Services Representative for the 4th District Congressional Office.
Rodger is a proven conservative with a record of protecting the constitutional rights of citizens, working on behalf of pro-life conservatives, and policy issues that impact Kansas families and businesses, both inside and outside the courtroom.
